PRISMI Regional Workshop event – MIEMA – Gozo, April 6th , 2018

MIEMA has organised a local Workshop in the framework of PRISMI project on the 6th of April of 2018. The event was held in the Ministry of Gozo in collaboration with the Gozo Development Agency (Prismi Associated Partner) and the participation of the technicians and engineers of the Ministry of Gozo, as well as the representatives of a number of Gozitan Municipalities.

MIEMA has organised a local Workshop in the framework of PRISMI project on the 6th of April of 2018. The event was held in the Ministry of Gozo in collaboration with the Gozo Development Agency (Prismi Associated Partner) and the participation of the technicians and engineers of the Ministry of Gozo, as well as the representatives of a number of Gozitan Municipalities. The workshop session focused on the topics of Renewable Energies penetration and RES projects for the island of Gozo. The PRISMI project, methodology, toolkit and results were presented by Arch. Erika Massa (MIEMA). Experts from Italy were invited to the workshop to give an in-dept training session on RES integration projects and financing models possibilities. Eng. Filippo Ingreccio conducted a specific session on how to exploit RES in condition of scarce availability of territory and presented case studies on RES integration in the south of Italy. He also focused on mobility giving examples of smart and electric mobility projects that he managed in Italy that can be replicated in Gozo. Arch. Federica di Pietrantonio presented innovative financial models for RES projects focusing on public funds and financial opportunities for small public authorities. Finally Eng Christian Cordina (Ministry Gozo) presented the Sherpa project, which is an Interreg Med project carried out by the Ministry for Gozo on the topic of energy saving on public buildings.  During the session, the surveys and the policy brief developed by PRISMI were distributed among the participant. The event counted with the participation of representatives of Gozitan Local Councils and the technicians of the Ministry for Gozo. The workshop was concluded with a round table and discussion with the stakeholders, which showed great interest for the application of PRISMI tools and RES projects for the island of Gozo.
